Font for our film title

When choosing the font for our film we decided to use Dafont in which we chose:

We chose this font to use for our film title as it conveys the genre of our film to be horror because it is bold and messy; which looks as if it has been written in blood.

However because we wanted the background of the text within our opening sequence to be dark, conveying the horror genre, we changed the colour of our chosen font to white.

 The images above are taken from the location of the house that we will be using within our film. We chose this location because we wanted to create a setting which shows a sense of normality.



These images are taken of the roads leading up to the house in which will be seen at the beginning of the opening sequence when the step-dad arrives at the house.

Audience theories & narrative structure in our film

 

The aims of our horror film is to entertain an audience between the age of 18-25. As well as entertaining them the focus of our film was to keep them on the edge of their seat, allowing them to escape from their every day routine and lifestyle- diversion/ Blumer and Katz theory.

 

Our film will follow the narrative structure anticipated by Todorov:

 

* An equilibrium- a sense of normality (the step-dad's first arrival).

* The disruption- The equilibrium gets destroyed becoming the disequilibrium(when the two daughters are murdered and the mother is left distraught).

* Attempts to repair- (when the mother goes Insane she believes killing herself is the only option to solve the problem).

* Restoration- a sense of normality is restored becoming a new equilibrium- (when the mother kills herself to be with her children).
